Day 62 - the disapproving parakeets
Female - without a rose ring |
Said the lady parakeet -
Screech, screech, screech! I am a rose-ringed parakeet,
So, don’t call me a parrot please, in your office, home or street!
Psittacula krameri
I have my own identity
You know, all parakeets are parrots, but not all parrots are parakeets!

Psittacula krameri
I have my own identity
You know, all parakeets are parrots, but not all parrots are parakeets!
See my slender body and my long long tail
And my red red beak, it is definitely not pale
He shows off that rose ring
Thinks his collar is quite a thing

Thinks his collar is quite a thing
He tries charm us ladies with it, but many a time fails!
Another angle of the male - on the Jamun tree. |
The parakeets love the teak tree perch, and love to squawk quite disapprovingly, it seems. And they use those feet to climb up and down and even swing upside down.
I love to watch their antics, they always make me smile. Do stop and stare, next time and I guarantee that those clouds of stress will lift.
