Monsoon Beauty 2026- Teak tree watch

20th July 2026

These are the two teak trees in our neighbour's plot.  They seem to be marching  different clocks. The one on the right, already leafy, while the one on the left still dry and scraggly.

The dry one attracts the birds at the moment - all using it as a perch more than anything.  In the morning, it is quite a parade of good mornings - the Red Vented bulbul with its soft chirp, then the loud screeches of the parakeets followed by the tonk tonk of the Coppersmith. Of course the crows are always cawing but now and then a bold koel briefly alights as well.

The Tailorbird and Babblers favour the leafy one more often. The Coucal does not come to the Teak at all.

More next week.
