Vismaya the Peregrine falcon came earlier, but I saw her for the first time this season on 15th January.
January also saw my first sighting of the year of the tiercel Mayan.

Some memorable moments these last 3 months and a kind of "attachment" to this falcon, as I have seen her for Chennai winters.  Her arrival signals that Chennai has cooled down and her departure is an early warning of the coming rising temperatures.

Last year she stayed until the Tamil New Year, this year she left earlier.

I habitually scanned the ledge for her yesterday, but she was absent, and the ledge were well occupied by crows and pigeons!

My last sighting of the tiercel was 24th Feb and the falcon was 9th April.

Wishing her safe travels, good breeding season and we await her return this winter.
