Day 65 - Wandering in Valmiki Nagar thickets
It rained a fair amount last night. Or so I deduced from the puddles standing everywhere this morning, overcast skies and cool rain-driven breeze. I seem to have slept though it'll.
Off to the Valmiki Nagar thickets for. a shore walk and while Kalpana and Vidya led the walkers through the intertidal stories, I wandered in the thickets of milkweed, stunted neem, Ravanan's meesai and wildflowers' patch that exists at the eastern end of fourth seaward road.
The beach bean vs the beach morning glory. Purple beauties
Beach Bean (Canavalia rosea) - legume family |
Beach Morning Glory - Ipomoea pes-caprae - |
Sand stabilisers both. The Ipomoea leaves that lookalike goat's feet kind of dominate, and I usually notice the beach bean only when I see a flower.
More tomorrow!
